Shop Brooklyn is a borough-wide awareness campaign, initiated by the Brooklyn Borough President's Office, highlighting Brooklyn's unique neighborhoods and thriving shopping corridors. Shop Brooklyn re-introduces Brooklyn to Brooklynites, reawakening that "Brooklyn Pride," and inviting visitors to experience this one-of-a-kind cultural and shopping destination year-round.
Participating merchants sign on free of charge and offer their special "Brooklyn Bonus" (a special deal or discount) throughout the course of the program.
The Shop Brooklyn campaign is supported through promotion and advertising in print and electronic media; promotional materials and aggressive on-line initiatives.
Additionally, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz champions the campaign through many of his media and community events. The program serves as a tool to grow your business. With thousands of hits a month on GoShopBrooklyn.com, we believe we can drive more shoppers onto your retail corridors and into your stores.
Promoting Your Small Business
- www.GoShopBrooklyn.com website — Shoppers can search for "Brooklyn Bonuses" or merchant by neighborhood, or product type. The website also showcases our partnership with merchant groups and directs users to these organizations' websites.
- Press coverage of program (Radio, TV and Newspaper)
- Press surrounding local events along your corridor (please let us know if you would like Marty to make an appearance at shopping events, and we will do our best to schedule)

Individual merchants registering with Shop Brooklyn will agree to offer a "Brooklyn Bonus" that runs during the promotional period. This bonus will reflect a major discount or special promotion. [Eg. Tina’s Restaurant offers free dessert with entrée or a % off merchandise.]
